I've finally bit the bullet and have begun to implement tagging functionality into the backpage cms. The new navigation approach will embody one of the glory boys of Web2.0 while retaining the 'good old fashioned' web-site hierarchy, adding just another method to navigate a backpage web-site. To ease the initial roll-out, the new approach will allow backpage authors to add their existing keywords to the relevant documents removing the need to edit hundreds of existing pages to make use of the new feature.
I'm still pondering ways this can be implemented from a User Interface POV, and ways to help the ole end user! No really... I do care ;)
ICT-GROUP.NET
Myself and Brian are slowly building this site into something to be proud of. It already adheres to web standards (unlike the ... *ahem* ... never-mind, long story!) and has all the usual backpage benefits - now we're adding the most labour intensive element - content!
Bugz
And last but sadly not least - the track-backs and arrow navigation of the blog and BpGallery respectively will be getting a bug fix in the next day or so...
